Eva Evans, DVM MBA cVMA
Practice Owner
Dr. Eva Evans attended The University of Tennessee where she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She received her MBA from The University of Maryland in 2015. Dr. Evans spent two years in Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked at a small animal private practice. In 2014, Dr. Evans moved back to Nashville, Tennessee and focused on Emergency medicine at an after-hours practice.
Dr. Evans is a board member of the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and served as a committee member and then later the Chairwoman of the Board on the AVMA Political Action Committee from 2013-2019.
Dr. Evans also serves on the Scholarship and Awards Committee with the AVMF evaluating scholarship applications from veterinary students. Additionally, Dr. Evans is a member of the Women’s Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative where she helps encourage and recruit female veterinarians into leadership positions.
In 2015, she hatched the idea of City Pets, a technology driven, high quality, boutique style practice that focuses on creating a comfortable environment, empowering and educating pet owners, and providing the best service and medical care available. After nearly two years of planning, building and creating, City Pets Animal Care was born; the practice serves Germantown, Downtown, Mid-Town, East Nashville and surrounding areas and is a convenient option for those who commute to work in the Downtown area.
Dr. Evans enjoys many aspects of Veterinary Medicine, but is truly passionate about Geriatric Care (including Hospice), Pain Management and Anesthesia, Acupuncture, Dermatology (focusing on allergies), Surgery, Imaging and Endocrinology. She shares her home with two crazy Boston Terriers, Mayzie and Roxy and her sweet calico cat named Gryffin.

Jessica Anderson, DVM CVA
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Anderson joined City Pets Animal Care in September, 2020. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2018. She continues to take continuing education courses in surgery and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through the Chi University. Her special interests include Surgery, General Medicine, and alternative medicine modalities which include cold laser therapy, acupuncture and associated techniques, herbal therapy, massage therapy, and palliative care. She is passionate about providing quality medical care for all pets and prides herself on being up to date on the latest recommendations and techniques.
When she is away from work her hobbies consist of traveling, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her fiancé and their two cute pups, Alba and Mateo.

Lauren Merritt, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Merritt joined City Pets in October of 2021. She is originally from Alabama, where she graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. While she enjoys learning about all things veterinary medicine, her interests include surgery, preventative medicine, dermatology, and nutrition. Dr. Merritt is excited to join the our Nashville community and looks forward to providing your pets with the best care possible.
When she is not at work, Dr. Merritt enjoys painting, gardening, and hanging out with her rescue pup, Zelda.

Savannah
Practice Manager
Savannah attended Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology/Pre-Vet in 2016.
She has been working with animals since she was 17 years old. She started as a kennel assistant at an animal hospital, and then worked at boarding and daycare facilities during college. Since she’s lived in Nashville, she worked at a local animal shelter for two years and then started here at City Pets!
Savannah has two dogs and two cats. Holly a Beagle mix, Sawyer a Golden Retriever Mix, Chloe a domestic short hair, and Beerus who is a special needs kitty.
When not at work, she and her husband are avid movie-goers! From going to the theater for the latest movie to staying home and watching classics like Casablanca, they love it all!

Bridget
Lead Veterinary Nurse
Bridget attended Western Illinois University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 2006. After college, she moved across the country to Phoenix, AZ and began working as a zookeeper at the Phoenix Zoo. After several years working with a variety of domestic and exotic animals, she moved here to Nashville to accept a job at the Nashville Zoo, where she worked mostly with primates and meerkats. Bridget left the animal field for a few years, working in physical therapy, but was thrilled to get back to the animals at City Pets!
Bridget’s passion for animals doesn’t end at the workplace. At home, she has a rescued Lab/Great Pyrenees mix named Bibi and 4 cats, Parfrey, Poky, Squeak and Turtle (the latter 3 of whom were local feral kittens found around the practice)! Bridget is also involved in animal conservation through ecotourism, and leads African photo safari trips to a rhino conservancy in Kenya.
Music City is a great fit for Bridget because she loves live music! In her spare time she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, practicing yoga, and playing volleyball with friends.

Charlotte
Veterinary Nurse
Charlotte graduated from Vol State with an Associate’s Degree in general sciences. During high school and college, she grew her passion for animals by working at a dog daycare and veterinary clinic in her home town. She joined City Pets in October of 2020. It was a childhood dream to be a veterinary nurse and she had several dogs, cats and small animals growing up. She has a special love for geriatric pets and the unique care they need.
Charlotte and her boyfriend, William, live in Antioch with their Great Pyrenees mix named Sativa, three cats (Fluff, Captain and Oddy’nuff The Snow Leopard) as well as a hamster, six snakes, six lizards, three frogs, two parakeets, and a tortoise.
When she’s not at the clinic or spending time with her pets, Charlotte enjoys cooking, all things Halloween, caring for her house plants, and attending reptile expos.

Lauren
Veterinary Nurse
Lauren started at City Pets in September 2021. She is originally from Louisiana. Lauren has always loved animals and really discovered her passion for helping animals when she worked at an animal shelter for four years, helping with rescue and adoption placements.
She moved to Nashville with her twin sister, her dog named Squish, and her cat named Panda. Both pets are rescues from the shelter she worked at previously and provide a good sense of home. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her sister, art projects, and taking Squish on new hiking trails. She loves volunteering at shelters around Nashville!

Eliza
Veterinary Nurse
Eliza started working at City Pets in the Fall of 2022. She is originally from Memphis, TN, where she was a Veterinary Assistant Training Manager for a chain of small animal practices.
Eliza and her boyfriend, Jacob, moved here with their cats, Esmé and Casper, their giant day gecko Ricky, and their frog, Fred. Eliza is a big fan of being outside, and enjoys gardening and going on hikes. She also sings as a second soprano for a local choir called Nashville in Harmony.
Eliza is in school working towards her certification as a Veterinary Technician. She is beyond excited to use what she learns to provide even better care for the family pets of Nashville!

Sarah
Veterinary Nurse
Sarah started working at City Pets in November of 2022. She is originally from Wilmington, Delaware but grew up just north of Nashville in Clarksville, TN. Sarah has had a passion for animals since the age of 16 when she first started volunteering with local animal shelters which then led her to work for both a dog daycare and local animal rescue after graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. She most recently went on to work as a driver manager with the ASPCA doing rescue transports for displaced animals before coming to City Pets to grow her passion for veterinary medicine.
Sarah and her fiancé, Austin, live in Nashville with their three dogs (Baxter, Beth, and Judy) as well as their three cats (Mia Wallace, Abraham Ford, and Trash Panda).
Sarah has a love for live music, all things spooky, eating sushi, and spending time with family and friends. Sarah is looking forward to continuing her education in Veterinary Medicine and can’t wait to meet all the furbabies!
